Brian Cachia started out as a Drummer at the age of thirteen and soon realized his obsession with music.
Living in a small shed out the back of his parents place, he used to wire four-track tape recorders together with crazy gadgets and experimented heavily with manipulating sounds to create recordings.
Throughout the Eighties and Nineties, as Metal and Progressive rock became popular, Brian was in his musical element performing in numerous bands simultaneously. Whilst mastering the drums, he also moved onto Guitar, Bass, Keys and anything else he could make a sound with, which helped during his studies of Jazz, Ethnic and Tribal African Percussion.
After enjoying many years performing on the road with several high profile acts, Brian found himself behind the Mixing Console of a reputable Recording studio in Sydney, where he practiced and evolved in the art of Producing and Engineering.
By the turn of the century, Brian had moved into the final and most passionate stage of his musical journey, which was composition for the screen, and was a major player in the success of many short films.
It was only time before he took on the challenge of a feature film and his debut has been nothing short of staggering, with the intensely rich and wondrously inspired score for the Arch Angel Epic, Gabriel, which was seen in cinemas throughout the world late 2007 courtesy of Sony Pictures.
His follow up score is for the Supernatural thriller Fragment which has been described as an 'evocative and compelling journey through one mans descent into the unknown.'
The most recent Score Brian Produced is for the Independent Feature release Bitter and Twisted which was accepted into the Tribecca Film Festival in New York April 2008, The score for this Quirky Story is often described as dreamy and colorful, Brian showed versatility with the score clearly stepping away from the dark tones of genera pic's and Composing a score which takes a light hearted approach to a potentially sad story of a family fast loosing it's foundations whilst dealing with loss.
An important aspect of Brian's scores is the simplicity that lay within the complexity, often using atmospheric tones that weave effortlessly through rich Orchestrations.
His scores are often described as dark and passionate, 'heavily emotive' and 'submersive', but Brian likes to just think of them as but another passage to help the journey of a willing audience.
Brian Cachia's Music has power and passion that stands strong and unique, dark and delicate, heavy and emotive attracting the film makers searching for something full and fresh.
